Look what happened here this week!
I was blessed to bake a huge, huge batch of pies to benefit the local women's shelter. The ladies helped roll out crusts and peel the apples and mix up the pumpkin custard...

My neighbor Steve grows organic produce...

He donated heirloom apples for the pies. I wanted to pay him but Steve insisted with a smile.

The ladies and I baked for two days straight in a commercial kitchen...

And we got to watch a crowd of people enjoy lots of yummy pie!

For me, this is the essence of Thanksgiving,
savoring the sweetness of sharing and counting our blessings.
God has been so good to us.

Dear Sharyn,

What a wonderful way to give back, and to be able to count your own blessings!

Those pies look mighty good.

What a fine thing to do and an experience to remember. Just look at all those pies...PIES! the best-est tasting dessert in the wide, wide world. Dough rolled out by all those loving hands, apples donated by your neighbor and such a wonderful camaraderie for a good cause. God job!
PS. I loved, loved, loved the photos from England. Sat down with a cup of tea and simply enjoyed them all. I know I will use some for reference in a future book, if that is okay with you, Thank you!
