The joy of creative friends

Sometimes memory brings the sweetest sunshine...

When the temperature drops and I long for spring, I bring out the photos of warmer times.
And today, it's the memory of a special artist retreat held at my house in summertime...

Are you, too, dreaming of warm weather and friendships?

Are you dreaming of picnics and laughter?

Afternoons in the garden with those you hold dear?

I can hardly wait for those long sunny days.

While the earliest leaves begin to emerge and we're preparing the raised beds for a salad garden, I'm thinking up plans for outdoor days with friends.

What do you love to do for time together when the warm days arrive?
Let's exchange some ideas.

Because (oh, happy thought!) sunny skies will be here before we know it.

Your post brightened up this drizzly day, and it made me remember the fabulous picnic my best friend and I snuck in on Sunday when the sun was beaming and little boys chased the encroaching gulls away with their remote-control cars. :-) Your posts always fill me with the desire for adventure and peace, which are not mutually exclusive things! Thank you.

Your post was a welcome wash of warm sunshine on this cold, drizzly Northwest day. My favorite summer activity is hiking in the sun with friends and then relaxing on the back deck with salads, grilled salmon and brownies while it stays light until 10 a.m.

Sherrie, ahhhhh... hiking in the sun, a deck full of laughter, salad, salmon and brownies...

I think we love the same things. Maybe we need to hike together this summer!!!

And Noel, yes, yes, YES to adventure and peace at the very same exact moment.

I am enjoying all the pretty colors in this post, starting with the first photo and the white-framed doorway in the red wall, to those pretty Japanese parasols, to your shoes and dress as you maneuver the tire swing.

We've had some very warm days down here recently, though it's a chilly 65 today.

A friend and I have decided to start a garden group, so far there are just 2 of us. We've decided to meet once a month and build a garden project or plant a garden pocket or build a stone wall. We will take turns at each other's gardens and lend a hand to one another with some industrious and interesting garden creativity.
