Tiny golden feathers

Two tiny golden feathers floated to the floor...

three baby finches flew into the house this afternoon

leaving behind a memory and a pair of brilliant yellow feathers

when they flew to freedom and birdsong and bright blue skies

Wow! What a beautiful little gift your visitors left behind! I think you just might live in paradise! Last week I had to leave for work at 5:15 a.m., which is definitely not my standard commute hour, and since you know the "neighborhood" you'll appreciate that for the first time I heard a cacophony of birdsong! I can't figure out if the birds are always singing but just drowned out by the drone of daytime city noise or if morning is just that golden hour. I have yet to spot golden finches but I'll take what I can get! Thanks for sharing those small wonders that make each day so special!

Kathleen, How wonderful to hear birds in the city at the crack of dawn! I do know your exciting neighborhood, and sometime you must come and see my quiet one. If you get to the Pacific Northwest you must come and visit me... I have a guest room just waiting for you!

Hello Sharyn! You are so sweet! I would love to visit your corner of paradise and it seems that this time of year would be the time to see its beauty in all its glory! Until then thank you for passing along such beautiful photos and reflections for the rest of us to vicariously enjoy!
