Reasons to be glad

Feeling a little on the blue side?

Sometimes winter leaves you feeling flat.

That's the time to think about what I call "reasons to be glad."

Birds and their antics.

Unexpected glory by the roadside.
Color, especially after winter's gray.

A garden, bursting with life and healthy dirt...

...and food you pick yourself.

Best friends and times we spend together...

The joy of being family.

What's on your list of reasons to be glad?

Today I'm glad we have a wood burning stove. It's so cold here right now (19 deg). And...they (power co) are doing a rolling power outage to conserve energy. So, we've lost power twice since 6AM. Hopefully the sun will come out soon and melt the ice!!

I look forward to Spring. Thanks for the beautiful reminders.

Wasn't feeling blue, but your photos still put a smile on my face, Sharon. I was tired of winter. We just got 18 inches of snow here, but we hadn't had much so it is kind of interesting and O'Hare's total at 20 puts it 3rd in the record books, so it always fun to be part of history, esp. if you don't have to go out in it and can just enjoy it's beauty. I'm happy the sun is out, I'm cozy and warm, my husband is home safe and my son is at school safe. Oh, I also loved your photos of the snow geese the other day. So beautiful!

A healthy family, and electric! Ours was out as well this morning...had to make a fire to feed our sweet baby a bottle. Things we take for granted! Love looking at your peaceful blog....photos are so beautiful

Also, glad for Dad's who brave the snowdrifts to bring their daughter's water when the pipes freeze: )
